The Foundation Names a New Spokesperson

5 July 2017

The Fondation de l’Institut universitaire en santé mentale de Montréal (the “Foundation”) is pleased to announce that the actress Debbie Lynch-White will be the spokesperson for the Foundation’s Pédalez, un peu, beaucoup, à la folie! challenge which will take place on September 7, 2018 at the Richelieu Valley Golf Club.

Mz Lynch-White reiterates her desire to make a contribution in breaking down the stigma surrounding people who suffer with mental illness.

“We are talking more and more about depression but I would really like for people to address other mental heath problems, that we further demystify schizophrenia and bipolar disorder for example. Many people paint all mental illness with the same brush even though each situation is very different. I would like things to change.”

Mz Lynch-White will work closely with the Foundation’s team to bring people together to support this cause and encourage them to pedal in large numbers.

Together We Will Pedal for Mental Health!

For a fourth consecutive year, participants in the cycling challenge will have the privilege of being led by none other than Dominique Perras, a former member of the Canadian Cycling Team and a cycling analyst for the RDS network.

Cyclists will have three courses to choose from: 48, 70 or 90 kilometers. Cycling enthusiasts, whether they be amateurs or seasoned pros, will be able to choose a course that is worthy of the challenge that they wish to take up.

Richard Lupien, an Executive Vice-President with National Bank Financial, will act as honorary president of the charity event.

The money raised from the event will allow the Foundation to improve the care provided to patients at the Institut universitaire en santé mentale de Montréal by supporting them on the road to recovery, well-being and independence.
